After multiple reports and speculation, Xiaomi has officially confirmed that it will launch the Xiaomi 18 Pro series in China soon. According to the company’s official Weibo post, the lineup will make its debut in its home market on 23 September.
The company is expected to launch the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models. Meanwhile, the standard model is reportedly set to launch at a later date, possibly towards the end of 2026 or in Q1 2027.

Another phone that we reportedly won’t be seeing this year is the premium Ultra model. In case you missed it, previous reports claimed that the tech giant has scrapped the device, potentially due to rising component costs amid the ongoing memory shortage. However, the company has yet to confirm or deny these reports.
As for the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, both phones continue the series’ focus on photography. In an official Weibo post, the company confirmed that the two models will feature a pair of 200MP sensors, with one serving as the main camera and the other being used for the periscope telephoto lens.

Besides the cameras, the tech giant also confirmed that the series will come with a 2nm flagship mobile platform, an M11 OLED display system, an upgraded secondary display, and larger batteries. The 18 Pro will allegedly pack a 7,000mAh cell, while the Pro Max will feature an 8,500mAh silicon.
At the time of writing, the Xiaomi 18 Pro series is not listed on SIRIM’s certification database. As such, there is currently no indication of when the phones will make their way to Malaysia. For now, we’ll have to wait for Xiaomi to provide an official announcement regarding their local availability.
