Infinix recently announced a new lightweight laptop for the Indonesian market. Although the brand has yet to disclose details on the device’s availability in Malaysia, a SIRIM listing suggests that the laptop will arrive on shores soon enough.
Based on its characteristics, the laptop is designed to be a portable entry-level device, much like the MacBook Neo and its rivals. It sports a slim build measuring 17.4mm thick. Additionally, the laptop features an aluminum alloy top cover, which gets paired with a carbon fibre base. This dual-material design allows the device to maintain a light build weighing 1.2kg.
As the name suggests, the laptop is fitted with a 14-inch IPS display. This panel features a 1,920 x 1,200 pixel resolution, a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a peak brightness of 300 nits. This screen also offers a 178° viewing angle and a 45% NTSC colour gamut.
Under the hood, the XBOOK 14 Neo packs an Intel Core Series 3 processor, with your choice between the Core i3-1315U and the i5-1335U. Furthermore, it can be configured with up to 16GB of DDR4 RAM. Meanwhile, storage can go up to 512GB. Infinix also claims that the laptop’s 55Wh battery can keep things powered for up to 13 hours. This battery supports 65W charging.
For ports, the device comes with one HDMI 1.4 port, two USB3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB-C ports, one USB 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Other features include WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, a 720p camera with a privacy shutter, as well as the brand’s Folax AI assistant.
In Indonesia, the Infinix XBOOK 14 Neo comes in four vibrant colours: Twilight Purple, Shadow Blue, Sonic Yellow, and Volcano Grey. Pricing starts from IDR 7,999,000 (~RM1,820). As mentioned earlier, there is no word on a local launch just yet. But again, its presence on the SIRIM database means that it will be coming to Malaysia, and possibly pretty soon.
