Dell officially launched the self-named Dell 14S laptop earlier this week during IFA 2026. The new laptop is powered by Intel’s Wildcat Lake, aimed towards students and young professionals in the market.
Marketed as one of the “affordable alternatives” to the Apple Macbook Neo, the laptop is lightweight enough at 2.53lbs, which is just about 1.15kg. As mentioned, the Dell 14S is powered by Intel’s latest Wildcat Lake processor. At the time of writing, the official product page isn’t listing specifics, only that the laptop is powered by the blue chipmaker’s Intel Core Series 3 CPUs, both from the Core 5 and Core 7 line.
The Dell 14S will have two display configurations: a 2.8K (2,880 x 1,800) 120Hz, or 2K60Hz, the latter for those who are prioritising battery life. They are both 16:10 aspect ratio displays.
Speaking of battery life, Dell says that the 14S is able to provide up to 21 hours of continuous playback on streaming services like Netflix. This is reportedly made possible with a 750ED PNCM battery, which is a denser cell engineered to run cooler under load. Unsurprisingly, the laptop also comes fitted with modern connectivity features, including Wi-Fi 6E, among other features.
At the time of writing, the Dell 14S is expected to be available in North America first in the fall of this year, which means local availability could be around November this year. No word on pricing yet, but if this is to be a direct competitor to the MacBook Neo, Dell is going to have to price it within the sub-RM3,000 range to keep things competitive.
On a related note, this isn’t the first Wildcat Lake laptop Dell has released. Back in August, the brand began selling the XPS 13 with Intel’s processors, albeit with limited options. Pricing for that laptop starts at RM3,819 and it actually weighs less than the Dell 14S, at 1 kg.
