Huawei recently hosted a launch event, during which it unveiled a slew of new products for the global market. Among the new additions to its portfolio is the Watch D3, which as the name suggests, is the successor to the Watch D2. It builds on the previously established features of the health-focused wearable, introducing improvements to its design and blood pressure monitoring system.
Starting with the exterior, the smartwatch has been slimmed down, with the case measuring 11.3mm thick. The strap is also 7.5g lighter than that of its predecessor, and the airbag is now narrower for more comfort. Meanwhile, the screen gets a slight size increase to 1.92 inches. This AMOLED panel comes with a 408 x 480 pixel resolution and 3,000 nits of peak brightness.

For blood pressure measurements, the device relies on the mechanical airbag built into the strap and a high-precision pressure sensor. These get paired with the brand’s TruSense system, which also offers other health tracking functions like heart rate, blood oxygen, ECG, and pulse wave arrhythmia analysis. As with the last generation, the latest model offers 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). That said, it also introduces pre- and post-workout BP measurements.
On the subject of battery life, the watch can last around six days with typical usage. Worth noting that this is without the ABPM feature turned on. Switching it on will reduce the battery life to a maximum of one day.
Other features of the watch include Bluetooth 6.0 and NFC. Another important thing to note is that the watch is not designed for swimming, so users will have to remove it before engaging in any activities involving water.

The Huawei Watch D3 comes in three finishes, namely Mocha Gold, Gold, Black. To start, the device will be available in European markets, with a GBP400 (~RM2,188) price tag. At the time of writing, the brand has yet to confirm whether the watch will be headed our way.
