Huawei has announced a new pair of earbuds for the local market. The FreeBuds Neo is designed as a functional fashion statement, with a fresh design in three colours: Stellar Silver, Starry Black, and Nebula Pink. The last one features a case with a gradient that matches the Pura 90s Pro.
Speaking of which, the case sports a minimalist silhouette designed to fit comfortably in the user’s hand. Meanwhile, the buds themselves feature a compact stem and a shape that naturally conforms to the ear’s contours. According to the brand, each earbud weighs roughly 4.8g, ensuring comfort during extended use.
As for the audio features, the device comes with 11mm dynamic drivers, which enables ultra-wideband reproduction ranging from 10Hz to 48kHz. Beyond that, the buds support 2.3Mbps high resolution lossless transmission when paired with compatible Huawei products. When connected to other devices, the earbuds offer a maximum transmission rate of 990kbps. Furthermore, the Unlimited Spatial Audio feature allows for a 360-degree soundstage. Overall, Huawei claims that these buds are capable of delivering authentic live sound and an immersive listening experience.
The FreeBuds Neo also comes with a dual-channel noise cancellation architecture, which delivers a full-frequency noise cancellation depth of up to 30dB. The buds can also adapt to changing environments and adjust the cancellation level, thanks to the third-gen Kirin A3 chip and advanced algorithms. For clear calls, a set of three microphones and a bone-conduction microphone suppress ambient sounds while enhancing vocal frequencies.
As for battery life, the buds can last a maximum of ten hours on a single charge with ANC disabled. Turning on the feature cuts down the listening time to 6.5 hours. With the charging case, users can get up to 40 hours of playback. Again, this is with ANC turned off. That number drops to 24 hours with it enabled.
