Last week, Xiaomi unveiled its upcoming REDMI Note 17 series to the public. Now, the company officially launched that the new family of smartphones in Malaysia. The list includes a vanilla model, a 5G version, a Pro 5G, and a Pro Max variant.
REDMI Note 17 & Note 17 5G
Let’s start with the REDMI Note 17 and Note 17 5G, because they share a lot of the same features. Specs-wise, the two models come with a 6.99-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. The panel has a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,200 nits peak brightness, 240Hz touch sampling rate and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
In terms of chipset, the vanilla model features a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 silicon, while the 5G variant possesses a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 SoC. Both offer up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS2.2 storage. They also have a 7,700mAh battery which supports 45W wired turbo charging and 22.5W reverse wired. For photography, the two feature a 50MP main shooter and a 16MP selfie camera.
REDMI Note 17 Pro
The REDMI Note 17 Pro comes with a much smaller 6.83-inch 1.5K CrystalRes AMOLED panel that has a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 SoC, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, and an 8,340mAh battery that supports 67W Hypercharge and 22.5W reverse wired charging. It also features a 50MP main shooter with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide on the rear and a 16MP selfie camera on the front.
REDMI Note 17 Pro Max
Last, but not least, is the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max. This model carries the same 6.83-inch 1.5K CrystalRes AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. However, inside, the phone has more potent internals, which include a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, and a massive 10,000mAh battery that supports 100W HyperCharge and 27W reverse wired charging. The handset comes with a 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide lens on the rear and a 32MP front-facing lens.
Pricing And Availability
As mentioned earlier, the REDMI Note 17 series has launched in Malaysia. The REDMI Note 17 and Note 17 5G are available for purchase now, while the Pro and Pro Max will be publicly available on 5 September. For price, the REDMI Note 17 retails for RM849 for the 4GB + 128GB combo. The Note 17 5G is priced at RM1,099 for the 6GB+128GB variant, while the 8GB+256GB version is priced at RM1,299.
Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 17 Pro is available in three configurations: 6GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 8GB+512GB. The first option is an online exclusive and is priced at RM1,399. The other two are available through traditional outlets and are priced at RM1,599 and RM1,899, respectively. Lastly, the Note 17 Pro Max starts at RM1,999 for the 8GB+25GB combo and goes to RM2,299 for the 8GB+512GB version.
It is worth noting that the brand is offering a promo to celebrate the series’ launch. Those who purchase the Pro and Pro Max models from 5 to 30 September will receive an RM200 rebate and a free REDMI Headphones Neo. However, those who preorder the aforementioned models on or before 4 September will instead receive an RM300 rebate with a free REDMI Headphones Neo and a Smart Band 9 Active. Meanwhile, those who purchase the Note 17 and Note 17 5G from 2 to 30 September will receive an RM100 rebate and a free Smart Band 9 Active.
