Xiaomi has officially unveiled the REDMI Note 17 series ahead of its official launch in Malaysia. According to the company, the series in question consists of four different models: the standard REDMI Note 17, a 5G variant, a Pro 5G version, and the first Pro Max model.
Unfortunately, the company did not reveal the pricing for these devices just yet; Xiaomi seems to be saving that detail for the series’ official launch next week. That said, the brand did reveal all of the specs so we know what to expect when the promised launch date arrives.
REDMI Note 17 Pro Max

Starting with the headliner model, the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max comes with a 6.83-inch 1.5k CrystalRes AMOLED display. It has a peak brightness of 3,500 nits, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for protection.
Inside is a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chipset paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS4.1 storage. Powering the device is a massive 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery that supports 100W HyperCharge and 27W reverse wired charging.

For software, it should come as no surprise that the phone — as well as the rest of the series — runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3. Other details include Wi-Fi 6, dual SIM, NFC, Bluetooth 6.0, and IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance.
As for imaging, the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max comes with a 50MP main camera with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Meanwhile, the front is home to a 32MP snapper.
REDMI Note 17 Pro

Next, the REDMI Note 17 Pro packs the same 6.83-inch 1.5K CrystalRes AMOLED panel. It also has a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz, 3,500 nits of peak brightness, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
The major difference between the Pro and Pro Max can be found inside. Unlike the Pro Max, the Pro comes with a Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 SoC with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS3.1 storage. Keeping the lights on is a significantly smaller but still sizable 8,340mAh cell that supports 67W Hypercharge and 22.5W reverse wired charging. Other details include Wi-Fi Protocol: 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, dusk SIM support, NFC, Bluetooth 5.1, and IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K dust and water resistance.
For the camera, the Pro model features a 50MP main shooter with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide on the rear. On the flip side, the front has a 16MP selfie camera.
REDMI Note 17 And Note 17 5G

Last up are the REDMI Note 17 and Note 17 5G smartphones. It should come as a surprise to anyone that these two devices are remarkably similar to each other, barring a few key details.
In any case, the two phones offer a larger 6.99-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a peak brightness of 1,200 nits, and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. That said, it only comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

The chipsets of the two phones are actually different. The vanilla model features a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 silicon, while the 5G variant possesses a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 SoC. Regardless of the chosen model, both offer up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS2.2 storage.
Both models carry a 7,700mAh battery which supports 45W wired turbo charging and 22.5W reverse charging. For connectivity, the two phones come with 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, hybrid SIM (SIM or microSD), and NFC. The 5G version goes up to Bluetooth 5.1, while the standard version only goes up to 5.0.
In terms of photography, the phones only come with one rear camera, which is a 50MP main shooter. The front, on the other hand, has a 16MP imaging unit.
