PLUS Malaysia has announced that its JustGo automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) toll payment system has now been rolled out across the North-South Highway, covering the route from Sungai Dua in Penang to Kempas in Johor. The expansion completes the rollout across the northern, central and southern regions following a series of phased deployments that began in January.
Unlike Touch ‘n Go’s RFID system, JustGo does not require motorists to use a dedicated lane, allowing them to pass through any available lane at supported toll plazas. The only exception is at the Bandar Cassia toll plaza, where JustGo is currently available only at an RFID lane marked with a red dot. PLUS says the Penang Bridge will be added to JustGo soon, with a separate announcement to be made once it is ready.
JustGo Rollout Reaches Southern Region
To recap, the JustGo pilot began in January on the 87.7km Hutan Kampung-Sungai Dua stretch, covering the Alor Setar (North and South), Pendang, Gurun, Sungai Petani (North and South) and Bertam toll plazas. In June, PLUS expanded the system to Jitra, while the Kubang Semang and Lunas toll plazas on the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway were also added.
The following month, the southern section was connected with the addition of Kempas, as well as Tanjung Kupang, Lima Kedai and Perling on the Malaysia-Singapore Second Link. PLUS has now completed the connection between the northern and southern sections of the North-South Highway through JustGo.
How To Use JustGo
To register for JustGo, motorists need to download the app on Android or iOS, create an account, and link their vehicle’s number plate and a bank card. Once registered, drivers can simply pass through a supported toll plaza, where cameras scan the vehicle’s number plate and automatically charge the toll fare to the linked bank card.
