Apple has yet to officially announce its first foldable iPhone, but Russian-based luxury brand and customiser Caviar is already claiming to have “insider” details about it. The company has even started taking deposits for its customised version of the device, complete with renders and a list of claimed specifications.
While Caviar has previously offered customised versions of unannounced hardware, its latest listing is particularly interesting given how much detail it provides. That said, the company has not provided any evidence to substantiate its claims, so they should be taken with a healthy dose of caution.
Alleged iPhone Ultra Specs
Much of Caviar’s information is in line with previous leaks surrounding the iPhone Ultra, including the display sizes, cameras and so on. However, discrepancies in its own listings, along with more ambitious claims, make it difficult to determine whether this is genuinely based on insider information or simply a compilation of existing rumours.
According to Caviar, the Apple foldable will feature a 7.8-inch inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, alongside a 5.3-inch outer display. Both are said to use LTPO OLED panels with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. Build-wise, the iPhone Ultra is said to feature a titanium frame and measure around 4.9mm thick when unfolded and 9mm when folded.
The company also claims that Apple will use an “innovative” hinge made from liquid metal, as well as flexible glass to minimise the display crease. Caviar lists Deep Black and Pure White as the two colour options.
Under the hood, Caviar claims the iPhone Ultra will be powered by Apple’s A20 Pro chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage, enabling “full iPad-style multitasking” on the foldable. The most eye-catching specification may be the claimed 5,800mAh battery. However, this figure is considerably higher than previous leaks, which have reportedly pointed to a capacity just shy of 5,000mAh.
For photography, the foldable is claimed to feature two 48MP cameras on the rear. On the front, Caviar says it will have a 24MP selfie camera hidden underneath the display, reminiscent of Samsung’s earlier Galaxy Z Fold models before the Galaxy Z Fold7.
Caviar Is Already Taking Pre-Orders
Caviar isn’t just selling the idea with renders. It is already accepting pre-orders for its customised iPhone Ultra, with the model starting at an eye-watering US$13,840 (~RM56,600). Customers putting down a 50% deposit will also receive a complimentary leather wallet.
Those who pay the full amount upfront will apparently get priority delivery and a choice of any available limited-edition number. Needless to say, that’s a rather bold proposition for a device that Apple has yet to even confirm.
No Action From Apple Just Yet
It remains to be seen whether Apple will take any action against Caviar over the listings. As you may recall, the company has previously pursued alleged leakers in court, including a case last year involving an individual who subsequently published renders of the rumoured foldable iPhone.
For the actual device, current speculation points towards Apple’s usual September launch window, with the iPhone Ultra potentially being unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Caviar itself also claims that Apple’s event will take place on the rumoured 9 September 2026 date, although Apple has yet to confirm anything.
