Huawei has recently launched a new tablet for the global market. Announced during the company’s “Now Is Your Spark” event in Bangkok, Thailand, the MatePad Pro Max promises “PC-level” productivity in a thin and light body.

At just 4.7mm thick, it is the slimmest member of Huawei’s MatePad lineup. What’s more, the brand claims that it is the thinnest flagship tablet in the world. As for its weight, that depends on the version of the device. The standard model weighs roughly 499g, while the PaperMatte variant is slightly heavier at 509g.

Thinness aside, the device features a 13.2-inch flexible OLED display with a 3,000 x 2,000 pixel resolution and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. This panel also comes with ultra-narrow 3.55mm bezels for an immersive viewing experience.

As for the internals, Huawei did not disclose the processor. That said, serial leakster Digital Chat Station previously claimed that it is a Kirin 9-series chipset. Regardless, the tablet comes with 12GB of RAM. As for storage, the company is offering a choice between 256GB and 512GB.

Keeping the lights on is a 10,400mAh battery with support for 66W wired fast charging and 40W wired reverse charging. For software, the MatePad Pro Max runs on HarmonyOS 4.3. As with the brand’s other tablets, it comes with productivity apps such as WPS Office AI and Huawei Notes. Additionally, the GoPaint app is on board for creativity purposes. Meanwhile, connectivity features include WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and NearLink.

On the imaging end, the tablet equips a 50MP shooter on the rear. Flipping the device around, you get a 12MP selfie snapper hidden inside the bezel. Other features include a six-speaker setup with quad-driver bass, and four microphones.

The Huawei MatePad Pro Max comes in two luminous finishes, namely Blue and Space Gray. Currently, the tablet is available for sale in select regions, though Malaysia is not among them. For now, it is uncertain whether the brand will be bringing it to our shores.
