Qualcomm recently announced that its Snapdragon X Elite chips will be powering some of the upcoming Googlebooks. But as we’ve already seen, it won’t be the sole provider of processors for these new devices. Aside from Intel, MediaTek will be another chipmaker bringing its expertise to the Googlebook. In fact, the company has unveiled a new chip for this purpose, called the Dimensity CX C10 Max.
As detailed in the official announcement, the processor serves as the flagship of the new Dimensity Compute Experiences (CX) lineup and is designed to power premium, ultra-portable devices. Built on TSMC’s 3nm process, it utilises MediaTek’s All Big Core design. The chip features an octa-core CPU, paired with an 11-core GPU, plus the company’s 8th-generation NPU. According to the chipmaker, the power-efficient architecture makes it suitable for thinner, lighter, and fanless devices with all-day battery life.
According to the product page, the CPU configuration comprises one Cortex-X925 core running at up to 3.73GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores. The chip also comes with an ARM Immortalis-G925 MC11 GPU, as well as support for LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.0 storage. Unsurprisingly, the company places an emphasis on AI capabilities. Aside from delivering up to 55 TOPS of performance, the MediaTek NPU 890 is designed around Gemini Intelligence features, promising faster responses and additional privacy benefits.
Furthermore, the processor incorporates a MediaTek Imagiq 1090 ISP, which supports camera sensors of up to 32MP. This AI-ISP also enables high-quality HDR video capture, smooth video zoom, cinematic video, and sustained focus. For connectivity, it supports WiFi 7 with speeds of up to 7.3Gbps and Bluetooth 6.0.

For now, MediaTek has not revealed which Googlebook will be equipped with the Dimensity CX C10 Max. Conversely, Qualcomm has confirmed that Dell and HP Googlebooks will be using its chips. And aside from Acer, Lenovo and ASUS have also opted for Intel processors.
