Not too long ago, the Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar appeared on the SIRIM database, suggesting that a launch is imminent. At the time, not a lot of information was available on the upcoming device beyond its possible design. Now, a new leak has revealed more details on the smartwatch, including it’s key specifications.
This information originates from a now-deleted page on a Spanish website, purportedly spotted by Wearable Fans prior to its deletion. As per the leak, the outdoor watch will feature a durable build composed of titanium, as well as a display protected with sapphire crystal. Built to handle rough weather, it will supposedly be able to withstand temperatures ranging from -30°C to 70°C.

Of course, the highlight of the watch is in the name. The T-Rex Dual Solar will launch as a solar-powered watch, and the new leak has some details on this as well. Apparently, the device will come with not one, but two photovoltaic panels. The first will be situated on the front of the watch, as one would expect. Meanwhile, the second will be located on the back of the device. This panel will reportedly be bigger and feature ceramic glass. Worth noting that these details align with a past leak, which included code in the Zepp Health app concerning watch face input power and case back input power.
This dual-panel approach would allow the user to easily charge the watch when it’s not worn. In theory, this should extend the device’s battery life. Speaking of which, the figures mentioned in the leak include 25 days in normal mode and 40 days in extreme outdoor mode. In the best possible sunlight conditions, however, the wearable can supposedly last a whopping 180 days. Assuming the information is to be trusted anyway.

Moving on to other reported specifications, the T-Rex Dual Solar will apparently come with a 1.3-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. It is also said to come with physical buttons and a built-in LED flashlight that has a boost mode for night excursions. The usual health monitoring features should be on board as well, including heart rate and blood oxygen levels. A training balance feature is also expected to be available, plus an alert system for weather and barometric pressure changes. Furthermore, the watch is rumoured to feature support for six satellite systems for accurate GPS tracking.
Of course, these are still leaks at this point, so it’s best to take these details with a grain of salt. At the moment, it is unclear when Amazfit will be releasing the smartwatch.
