Though Amazfit has a wide range of smartwatches under its belt, it has yet to launch one that comes with solar charging capabilities like Garmin has. However, that may soon change as a few news outlets have spotted what seems to be the brand’s first solar-powered watch making its appearance in certification databases, including SIRIM. Furthermore, thanks to SIRIM’s listing, we now have a name for the watch: the T-Rex Dual Solar.
Database Listings
Based on Gadget & Wearable’s report, the previously unnamed watch was first discovered in Indonesia’s Sertifikasi Indonesia database. The listing revealed that it carried a model number of A2570, that it was identified as an Amazfit device, and that it was made in China.

Among the three, the model number was the most important, as that specific model number made another appearance, this time in South Korea’s RRA database. Then it was spotted in Malaysia’s SIRIM database, where it provided the name for the upcoming device.
We visited the database ourselves and confirmed that the wearable is indeed listed on the site. According to the organisation, the T-Rex Dual Solar received local regulatory approval on 3 August. Afterwards, the same A2570 model number again, this time in the Eurasian Economic Union registry.
What The T-Rex Dual Solar May Look Like

According to Gadget & Wearable, whispers of an Amazfit solar-powered smartwatch have been making the rounds online even before it was in any databases. In June, the publication discovered a solar-power related function within the Zepp Health app in the form of codes. These codes touched on solar battery charge records and solar intensity data, as well as a few mentions about watch face input power and case back input power.
Since there was no name attached to it at that time, the publication could only speculate that the company was simply preparing the app for a new watch. A few days later, Gadget & Wearables noticed an “unidentified” wearable on Amazfit Spain’s Instagram page.

Gadget & Wearable took the watch spotted in this post and made a mockup of it (which you can see above) The device has an oddly rugged design (which is a staple feature for a T-Rex watch) and comes with six different buttons around the bezel. The news outlet notes that the face “reads as flatter and dimmer than the AMOLED panels Amazfit normally ships”, before suggesting this is strong evidence for a solar smartwatch.
Local Launch Possibly Soon
At the time of writing, Amazfit has yet to announce the device in the Malaysian market, let alone any details on pricing or availability. However, as mentioned above, since it is listed in SIRIM’s database, we could expect a local launch sooner rather than later. Some publications theorise that it could make its official debut in the coming weeks.
