We’ve already heard rumours of a fourth model, with the Pro suffix, to be part of next year’s Samsung Galaxy S27 line. It looks like the number could go up by one more, as a leakster points to the possibility of two versions of the existing Ultra variant, or more specifically, two sizes. Said leakster has also shared renders of these two Ultra variants, showing minor differences between them, though the size difference is not immediately obvious.
Leakster @SonnyDickson has shared on X the aforementioned renders, but it’s unclear which is supposed to be the larger Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, and which is supposed to be the smaller one. That being said, if you look closely, the volume rocker on one is higher up on the body of the device, at least relative to the massive camera island. Fellow leakster @UniverseIce has chimed in with the same observation, and since they’re not making an opposing claim, one could take this as a corroboration of sorts.
A Lineup To Match The iPhone’s?
Of course, it’s entirely possible that the smaller of the two models here could simply be the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro, rather than a separate Ultra model. It would make more sense, especially if, as many pundits would claim, the South Korean tech giant is looking for a lineup that is closer to what Apple offers. With that in mind, the base, Plus and Pro models will line up nicely, with the Ultra model being equivalent to the Pro Max instead. That being said, Apple did not release an iPhone 17 Plus last year, with its slot taken up by the iPhone Air instead.
Or, who knows, we may actually end up with a very crowded five-device lineup when Samsung unveils the Galaxy S27 family. It will be awhile before the company confirms any of this though, as the first Galaxy Unpacked event of 2027 is half a year away at the very least.
