Videogames peripheral brand Razer looks to be adding a lot of new variants to the Huntsman line of keyboards, but not full-sized ones. Previously, it announced magnetic versions of its Huntsman V3 line, but only in TKL and 65% sizes. Today, the brand announced the Huntsman V3 Pro Low-profile Tenkeyless 8KHz – the long name being fortunately pretty self-explanatory. Unfortunately, this new keyboard got its launch all by its lonesome, so no full-sized version, at least for now.
From the line of analog keyboards, it comes with the familiar feature set associated with the tech. Or, to use the company’s own names for them, these are Rapid Trigger Mode, Razer Snap Flex and Snap Tap, as well as Dual-Keypress Priority. There’s of course the obvious ones like adjustable actuation and, as mentioned in the name itself, 8,000 Hz HyperPolling. All in all, very similar to other keyboards within the range. Being a Pro model means you get the dial on the top-right corner, as well as media shortcut buttons, but only two since it’s not a full-sized keyboard.

Of course, the only new thing here is the low-profile build of the keyboard. Razer uses its new Low-profile Analog Optical Switches for this version of the Huntsman V3 Pro. This would make it more reminiscent of the Deathstalker V2 series, which itself looks to be discontinued. But back to the Huntsman, this means an adjustable actuation range of between 0.1mm and 2.8mm, as opposed to the 4.0mm limit of the other Huntsman keyboards.

On the surface, it sounds a little counterintuitive, as you’d think that with the freedom to set the actuation point, you’ll want as wide a range as possible. But if you would like to experience squaring that circle for yourself, the Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Low-profile Tenkeyless 8KHz can be obtained for RM1,149. You can get it today from the company’s own online store or select retailers.
