Razer introduced the Kiyo V2 and its X model back in October of last year. Now, after nearly a whole year, the Pro variant of the line makes its debut. There are some familiar elements here, but this one has the Pro suffix tacked on for a good reason. Depending on perspective, it is twice as good as the base model, which may justify it costing nearly twice as much.
The Razer Kiyo V2 Pro comes with a Sony STARVIS 2 sensor, which is the bit that allows it to do what it does. Where the base model is stuck at recording 4k at 30fps, the Pro model, with the new sensor, bumps 4k recording up to 60fps. Unfortunately, it’s not all good news, as the lens over the sensor provides an 86-degree field of view, which is only slightly more than the 83 degrees of the V2 X, and behind the 93 degrees of the base model.
That said, on the software side of things, the Razer Kiyo V2 Pro comes with auto-framing, as well as dynamic pan, tilt and zoom to always keep you centred even if you shift your sitting position around while streaming. This does require a Pro license for Camo Studio, but the company says that every Kiyo V2 Pro comes with a free lifetime license for that. It also features UHDR to maintain image detail in both bright and low-light conditions. And when you’re done for the day, the integrated privacy shutter is there to ensure that you really are done showing yourself to the world.
As alluded to earlier, the Razer Kiyo V2 Pro does not come cheap. Where the base model from last year is priced at RM729, the Pro model comes in at RM1,349. But if you really need your streams to be 4K 60fps, then you can now get it from retailers, or the brand’s own online store.
