Tecno has unveiled a new addition to its Pova lineup. If the name doesn’t already make it obvious, the Pova 8 Pro serves as the fancier counterpart to the recently launched vanilla version. Compared to the regular model, this new Pro variant offers upgrades in terms of display, chipset, as well as camera.
Starting with the exterior, the phone retains the “spaceship-inspired” design with a triangular camera module. Also on board is the Alive Matrix Display. The customisable screen leverages mini LED technology and syncs with more than 49 scenarios, including calls and messages, gaming, as well as file transfers.
Over on the front of the phone is a 6.78-inch HyperLux AMOLED display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. This panel offers a 2,644 x 1,208 pixel resolution, a 144HZ refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Beyond that, it has a 2,800Hz instant touch sampling rate, 2,592Hz PWM dimming, as well as support for wet and oily touch. Other features include an under-display fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, a One-Tap Button for shortcuts, and IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings.
Internally, the brand has equipped the device with a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate SoC and its P1 Graphic Chip. The phone also comes with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Keeping the lights on is a 6,500mAh battery, which does pale in comparison to the regular Pova 8’s 8,000mAh cell. Regardless, this battery supports 45W wired and 10W reverse wired charging. Bypass charging is also available. For heat management, the device features a 5,000mm² VC cooling system.
On the software side, the phone runs on Android 16 via HiOS 16 right out of the box. As usual, there is a selection of AI-driven features, including the Ella digital assistant. Meanwhile, connectivity features include WiFi 6, 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC.
As for imaging, the device sports a dual camera setup on the rear. This arrangement comprises a 50MP main sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For the selfie enthusiasts, the front is equipped with a 13MP camera.
The Tecno Pova 8 Pro comes in three colours, namely Arc White, Graphite Black, and Tundra Green. There is also a Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition, which features a Tonino Lamborghini Black finish. The differences between this version and the regular Pro models are purely visual, though.
Tecno has confirmed that the phone will launch in India on 18 August 2026. However, it is unclear whether the device will be making its way to our shores.
