MSI has reportedly put its MPG 271KRAW1B gaming monitor on hold indefinitely. However, one source believes that the company may have outright cancelled its production.
According to TFTCentral, the MPG 271KRAW1B has been put on hold due to “technical feasibility” issues, with the possibility of having been cancelled entirely, but is also prioritising other monitor projects. At the time of writing, MSI hasn’t commented on the matter.
The MPG 271KRAW1B first made its debut at Computex 2026 this year, although it wasn’t quite the star of the show at the time. Through our observation, MSI seemed more focused on debuting the MPG OLED 322URDX36, both the brand and the world’s first triple-mode QD-OLED gaming monitor. Simply put, it allows users to switch between 4K resolution at 360Hz, 1440p at 520Hz, and Full HD at 680Hz, and more importantly, it also uses a QD-OLED panel. Of course, the other party piece during the annual event was the Claw EX 8 AI+, but that’s neither here nor there.
The MPG 271KRAW1B was originally supposed to launch in January of next year. Specs-wise, it was a 27-inch Rapid IPS Mini LED panel with a native resolution of 5K (5,120 x 2,880) and a refresh rate of 180Hz. It was also supposed to be a dual mode monitor, dropping down to QHD (2,560 x 1,440) with a 330Hz refresh rate.
Other details include the 2,304-zone Mini LED backlight, plus a Quantum Dot layer and Vesa DisplayHDR 1400 certification. Given its refresh rate, connectivity would indicate that it would have used a DisplayPort 2.1 port with the full ultra high bitrate 20 (UHBR20) bandwidth, among other ports.
