Alliance Bank has announced that it is adding Apple Pay support for its Visa credit cards. This update comes over a year after the bank introduced support for Samsung Pay and Google Pay.
With this rollout, users are able to make payments using any supported Apple device, including iPhones, Apple Watches, iPads, and Macs. Much like any other bank, customers can use the feature for both online and in-person purchases. As outlined on the bank’s website, users can add both physical and virtual credit cards to the service.

To get started, users must first add their Alliance Bank Visa Credit Card to Apple Pay. There are different ways to do this depending on the type of card. For virtual cards, the user must open the allianceonline mobile app and head over to the Virtual Credit Card section. From there, they can select the “Add to Apple Wallet” option. They will then be required to follow the authentication steps. The card is ready to use once approved.
As for physical credit cards, the user must open the Apple Wallet app and tap either “+” or “Add Card”. Then, they may scan their card or manually enter its details. Much like with virtual cards, the user must complete the verification process. Upon successful verification, the user can immediately begin using Apple Pay.

According to the bank, customers can add the same credit card to multiple compatible Apple devices. Furthermore, cards that are already registered with other mobile wallets like Google Pay can still be added to Apple Pay. It should be noted that supplementary cards must be added separately, though.
Other than that, rewards for eligible transactions remain unchanged, so customers can continue to earn points and cashback as usual. That said, there is one notable difference when using Apple Pay. Payments aren’t subject to Malaysia’s RM250 per transaction limit. Instead, the cap is based on the account credit limit.
