Huawei has recently launched the Watch Fit 5 series in the global market. At the same time, the company has begun teasing its local launch via its social media channels. At the time of writing, there’s no date as to when that will happen just yet. But judging from prior entries, and the fact that they’re already on the SIRIM database, it should happen before the month is out.

That being said though, for now we’ll have to rely on details that the company has shared as part of the aforementioned global debut. According to Huawei Central, the series consist of a base and a Pro model. The former measures 42.9 × 38.2 × 9.5 mm while the latter measures 44.5 × 40.8 × 9.5 mm.

Visually, they look pretty similar to the previous generation. But going down to specific spec sheet items, the base model Huawei Watch Fit 5 comes with a 1.82-inch AMOLED 480 x 408 screen with up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness. The Pro model maintains the resolution, but with the size bump, this means a 1.92-inch screen instead. It also gets a peak brightness boost, up to 3,000 nits.

Per the report, both variants of the Huawei Watch Fit 5 can run for 10 days with light use. This goes down to seven days with “typical” use, and four days with its Always-On Display. Both support up to 40m dives, and over 100 exercise modes. Special attention looks to be paid to running and cycling modes, as they can calculate burnt calories based on your activity while doing either. On one hand, there’s the practical automatic fall detection, but on the other, there’s the more frivolous social media support.

GSMArena says that the standard Huawei Watch Fit 5 is priced at GBP 159.99 (~RM852), while the pro model has got GBP 249.99 (~RM1,331) tacked onto it. As an aside, there’s also the Huawei Watch Ultimate Design Spring Edition that’s adorned with 99 natural diamonds and a diamond-cut sapphire crystal. This one costs GBP3,499 (~RM18,633) instead.
