ASUS has announced that the latest entry from its ExpertBook series is set for a Malaysian launch. The model in question is the ExpertBook Ultra, which offers a thin and lightweight design, while also powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra series of processors.
Most details of the laptop’s specifications are under wraps for now, but ASUS did share some of its expected key selling points. The ExpertBook Ultra features a 14-inch display, along with a magnesium alloy chassis that measures as thin as 10.9mm and weighs at only 0.99kg.
Despite its slim and lightweight design, it also comes with a generous number of ports. Mirrored on both sides of the laptop are a total of two USB 3.2 Type-A ports and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. Found exclusively on the left is a HDMI 2.1 connector and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It should be noted that the ExpertBook Ultra can be charged by either USB-C ports.
While ASUS did not specify which Intel processor is featured, a quick check on its official website reveals that the laptop will come with up to a Core Ultra X7 Series 3. The product page also mentions built-in Intel Arc graphics, up to 64GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 2TB storage via M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe 5.0 SSD, and a 70WHrs battery.
Last but not least, ASUS says pre-orders for the upcoming ExpertBook Ultra are now available, with prices starting from RM7,999. Those interested can book the laptop via the company’s official e-Store, as well as its online stores on Shopee and Lazada. ASUS adds that pre-orders also include a RM500 Malaysia Airlines gift card and a 100W USB Type-C GaN charger accessory, while stocks last.
On a related note, ASUS introduced the ExpertBook P1 for the local market last month. This model is powered by Intel’s Core Ultra 5 210H processor and comes in either 14-inch or 15.6-inch Full HD display options. Both panels feature a 16:9 aspect ratio, anti-glare coating, and up to 300 nits brightness, while the laptop itself ships with 16GB DDR5 RAM, 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage, and a 50Wh battery.
In terms of connectivity, the ExpertBook P1 includes two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery support, HDMI 1.4, Gigabit LAN, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Pricing starts at RM2,799, with ASUS bundling a two-year international on-site warranty, one-year accidental damage protection, and a three-year McAfee subscription.
