ASUS announced that it will be rolling out three new gaming monitors later this year. All three are part of the company’s Ace line of products and are especially marketed with esports players in mind. The lineup consists of the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace, the ROG Strix OLED XG259QDPG Ace, and the ROG Strix OLED XG259QDNS Ace.
All three models share the same 24.5-inch size; what differentiates them from each other are a few internal details like panel types, coatings, and especially refresh rates. It is also worth noting that the company is launching the ROG Gladius IV Ace ergonomic gaming mouse as part of the collections.
ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace
Starting with the headliner product, the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace is a 24.5-inch display with a Tandem 1080p WOLED panel. It has a peak brightness of 1,700 nits and supports Dolby Vision for a more realistic HDR. Its main selling point, however, is that it has a 720Hz refresh rate, which is the fastest among the new line of products.
Another key feature that the monitor has is what ASUS calls the “Position Sensor”. As the name suggests, it’s a built-in sensor that measures the monitor’s tilt and height angles onscreen, which makes it easier to reproduce the user’s ideal setup when travelling with the monitor.
ROG Strix OLED XG259QDPG Ace
Next we have the ROG Strix OLED XG259QDPG Ace. This monitor is quite similar to the previous model but has a lower but still respectable 560Hz refresh rate. It comes with the company’s “BlackShield” film and an anti-glare low-reflection coating. ASUS claims that, combined, the two “boosts perceived black levels by up to 40% in brighter lighting conditions” while also increasing panel hardness by 2.5x for easier cleaning.
ROG Strix OLED XG259QDNS Ace
Last among the monitors is the ROG Strix OLED XG259QDNS Ace, which is the cheapest offering among the three. ASUS explicitly states that this model will have the “most mainstream price tag” for the general consumer.
It comes with an RBB QF-OLED panel, BlackShield Film and an anti-glare low-reflection coating. What differentiates this from the Strix OLED XG259QDPG Ace is that it only has a refresh rate of 360Hz.
ROG Gladius IV Ace
Now we have the last member of the collection in the form of the ROG Gladius IV Ace. As mentioned earlier, the Gladius IV is an ergonomic gaming mouse first and foremost with the aim of reducing muscle strain, or so the company says.
Specs-wise, the mouse features ROG SpeedNova 8K Gen II technology and comes with an “enhanced receiver with a large antenna” for better signal quality. It comes with the ROG AimPoint Pro 65K optical sensor, which, as the name suggests, delivers 65,000dpi. It also comes with 20,000fps scanning and 8,000Hz polling.
There is also Zone Mode, which the company says “provides competitive-gaming hardware settings”. The mouse itself weighs 56 grams in total and comes with 3g, 5g, and 7g stackable weights for better customisation and comes with a travel-ready case.
Pricing And Availability
In terms of pricing, the company said that the ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace is priced at US$1,099 and will be available in Q4. Unfortunately, the website did not give any pricing details or release window for the ROG Strix OLED XG259QDPG Ace and theROG Strix OLED XG259QDNS Ace. Meanwhile, the product page for the ROG Gladius IV Ace says that it will debut later in Q3 with the official pricing to follow.
We reached out to ASUS Malaysia, and a representative confirmed the monitors will arrive this November. Unfortunately, they couldn’t provide a specific launch date or local pricing yet.
