Well, it’s happening: the Samsung Galaxy Note FE will in fact be coming to Malaysia. Not only are we one of very few markets that will receive the refurbished device, it also serves as a more affordable alternative to the costly – but very refined – Galaxy Note 8.

Just moments ago, the product page for the Galaxy Note FE went live on Samsung Malaysia’s website. According to the company, the Note FE will be available in Malaysia from 25 October onwards; that’s only in a couple of weeks’ time.

In essence (and in Samsung’s words), the Galaxy Note FE is “an entirely new device that has been reengineered with unused components and unopened Galaxy Note 7 devices replaced with safe batteries.” In comparison to the Note 7’s 3,500mAh battery, the Note FE comes with a slightly smaller 3,200mAh cell.

Other specifications of the Note FE include a 5.7-inch 1440p Super AMOLED display, an Exynos 8890 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a 12MP dual-pixel rear camera with optical image stabilisation, a 5MP front-facing shooter, and an IP68-rated body. Much like the Note 8, the Note FE’s S Pen is also water-resistant.

The fact that Malaysia will receive the Samsung Galaxy Note FE certainly shows Samsung’s commitment to the Malaysian market. Retailing at RM2,599, the Note FE carries a rather compelling price tag too. The best part is, it will be part of Samsung Malaysia’s portfolio: the Note FE is not a limited release in our market.
