After being the subject of several rumours and reports, Samsung has finally announced its first clip-on earbuds, the Galaxy Buds On. At least in South Korea. Per its official newsroom, the new audio equipment is slated to go on sale in its home market on 27 October, with a global rollout to follow.
By this point, the series of leaks have left little room for imagination, but at the confirmation at least shed some light on additional details that we may not be familiar with. Unfortunately, the company is still withholding the detailed specs of the earphones at the time of writing.
Design And Ergonomics

Samsung claims that it has analysed data from different types of ears to create the form factor of the Galaxy Buds On that we see today. According to them, the buds’ unique shape can distribute pressure evenly across the ears, offering a secure fit without it falling off.
Like most clip-on earbuds, these earphones come with touch control. Per the official document, users can adjust audio playback and call control with a light touch on the back of the buds.
Features And Internal Details

While the company didn’t specify the driver size of the earbuds yet, it did mention that the Galaxy Buds On comes with TwinBoost speakers that can enhance the low-frequency range. Further, these clip-ons feature an automatic volume control that adjusts the volume relative to the surrounding environment. It also comes with “Audio Leakage Reduction”, which, as the name suggests, reduces sound leakage while using the audio equipment.
The earphones also support Samsung’s Intelligent Clear Call technology, which utilises three microphones, a bone-conduction-based Voice Pickup Unit sensor, and machine learning. The last one is important because it can help isolate the wearer’s voice from the background. With these three combined, Samsung says that users can expect clear conversations even in noisy environments.

Moving on, Samsung writes that the Galaxy Buds On are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform alongside a high-efficiency Class-D amplifier. Together this allows the earphones to provide up to 9.5 hours of continuous music playback on a single charge. That said, we do not know how long it will last in total with the included charging cradle.
AI Integration
Beyond that, the Galaxy Buds On also come with several Galaxy AI features when paired with a compatible Galaxy smartphone or tablet. For instance, users can say “Hey Google, let’s talk live” while wearing the earbuds to launch Gemini Live and have a hands-free conversation with Google’s AI assistant.
The earbuds also support Quick Voice Memo, which lets users long-press the touch area to start recording a voice memo instantly. The recordings can then be searched using Bixby without having to take out their phone.
Pricing And Availability

As mentioned earlier, the Samsung Galaxy Buds On will hit South Korean stores on 27 October. A global rollout has been confirmed, but we do not have an exact date for that at the time of writing. In terms of pricing, the earphones will retail for KRW299,000 (~RM904) and will only be available in a black colourway.
