Huawei just sent us a teaser for an upcoming device in the company’s mid-range Nova series. Although Huawei did not give us any specific detail on what we could expect from the new Nova device, we reckon the upcoming smartphone could come with as many as four cameras.
The only clue we have about the new entry in the Nova series is one single teaser image: it prominently shows the hashtag #OOOO. Now, the last time Huawei used a similar hashtag (#OO) was for the Huawei P9, Mate 9 and P10 smartphones; all of which have dual-camera systems.
Considering the fact that the new teaser image for the unannounced Nova device shows four circles, we’re inclined to believe that Huawei will include four cameras on the upcoming device. Now, we’ve seen quite a number of smartphones with dual-camera setups on the rear or front, but not as many devices sport dual front and rear cameras.
Of course, there are a few smartphones with four cameras – the Gionee S10 and Alcatel Flash come to mind – but it’ll certainly be interesting to see how Huawei will pull it off. After all, the Chinese company has worked with legendary camera maker Leica for quite some time now: perhaps the new Nova device will have a neat trick up its sleeves.
