For those who have seen the price tag of Vivo V5 as well as V5 Plus that will be launched later today and feel that these phones might be out of their reach, there is actually an alternative model that the company released in Malaysia recently. Called Y66, it still carries a metal unibody chassis and high resolution front camera as part of its main features.

In fact, we believe that Y66 is just a different name for V5 Lite given how identical both phones looked like and even their specifications are similar to each other. For starters, both Y66 and V5 Lite are running on an octa-core processor together with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.

Vivo Y66 vs V5 Lite
Both of these images were taken at Vivo’s official website – (1, 2). Now, tell us that they are not the same.

In addition to their 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720) IPS display, both smartphones also feature front-facing 16-megapixels f/2.0 camera and LED flash as well as another 13-megapixels f/2.2 camera on their rear. They are also equipped with 3,000 mAh battery.

We have reach out to Vivo to learn whether Y66 and V5 Lite are indeed the same phone but if you like what the smartphone has to offer, the name shouldn’t be a concerned. Priced at RM 999, the new Vivo V66 is now available wherever Vivo devices are sold in Malaysia.
