honor Malaysia has recently announced that it will be launching not one, but two devices next week: the honor 5X and honor 7 Enhanced Edition. Those who are looking for an affordable Android smartphone – or a slight upgrade over the standard honor 7 – will have another option to consider.

The honor 5X was unveiled in late October last year in China. Considering it’s only been about three months since then, it’s pretty timely of honor Malaysia to bring the 5X to our shores. In terms of specification, the honor 5X is a well-equipped mid-range device: it has a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor paired with up to 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot that can accomodate cards up to 128GB, a 3,000mAh battery, as well as 13MP rear and 5MP front-facing cameras. What makes it particularly interesting from its predecessor is the fact that it has a premium metal construction and a fingerprint sensor.

As for the honor 7 Enhanced Edition, there are two things that differentiate it over the standard variant: it has 32GB of internal storage – the standard model in Malaysia only has 16GB of built-in storage – and it runs on Emotion UI 4.0 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Aside from these two differences, the Enhanced Edition is just like the standard honor 7. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS display, a Kirin 935 processor paired with 3GB of RAM, a microSD card slot which supports cards up to 128GB, a 3,100mAh battery, a 20MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus, and an 8MP front-facing camera.
