Google’s second iteration of the Chromecast is now finally available in Malaysia. We first saw the devices appear on SIRIM, and now the Chromecast 2 is sold exclusively on Lazada Malaysia. Apart from the Chromecast 2, Google is also bringing in the Chromecast Audio for your music streaming needs.
The original Chromecast was made available for purchase about a year ago and it turned conventional TV sets into a multimedia streaming hub. Just like the first Chromecast, customers who purchase a unit of the Chromecast 2 will also receive a one-year iflix subscription for free.
Besides that, Google also brought in the Chromecast Audio – a small device that lets you stream music wirelessly to your speaker system. If you have multiple Chromecast Audio dongles connected to different speakers around the house, you could create a multi-room audio setup – a feature found on Sonos or Pure Jongo speakers.
The Chromecast devices from Google are a great alternative for those who don’t want to spend too much on a smart TV, but still want to stream content from the Internet.
