Google has launched a couple of new wearable devices this year. However, it seems that the search giant could be preparing to add another device to its lineup, or so a recent leak claims, in the form of the Fitbit Edge.
The information comes from Android Headlines, which recently published what it claims are exclusive renders of the Fitbit Edge. The images show a smartband with an elongated body and an oval-shaped display, giving it a different look from the round-faced Pixel Watch 5. Based on the leaked details, Google could position the device as a middle ground between the Pixel Watch 5 and the screenless Fitbit Air.
Alleged Specs & Features

Android Headlines writes that, besides being positioned as a middle-ground option, the Fitbit Edge could also serve as a spiritual successor to the now three-year-old Fitbit Charge 6. Much like the Charge smartwatches, the publication says the Fitbit Edge is a fitness-focused band with a display and battery life of up to seven days. It will also reportedly offer support for a limited selection of features, including Google Maps, media and music controls, and Find My Phone.
The Fitbit Edge is also said to support notifications, although Android Headlines notes that they “won’t be as useful as the Pixel Watch”. As a fitness-focused device, it will reportedly come with built-in GPS, an altimeter for elevation tracking, and automatic activity recognition. The leaked images also show a sensor array on the underside that appears similar to the one found on the Fitbit Air. However, the exact sensors and health-tracking capabilities of the Edge have yet to be confirmed.
Colours & Design
The leaked images also show the Fitbit Edge in three colourways: black, green, and orange. These reportedly correspond to the Obsidian, Olive, and Canyon finishes offered on the Pixel 11 Pro. The device could, of course, be offered in additional colours if and when Google officially launches it.
Looking closer at the design, the Fitbit Edge appears to have elongated buttons or metal strips on either side of its body, although their exact functions remain unclear for now. The renders also show a pinch-style mechanism on the back of the device for removing and replacing the bands.
Rumoured Availability
Android Headlines reported that the Fitbit Edge “should be available very soon”, with the device potentially debuting later this October. The publication also warns that delaying the launch further could mean Google misses the busy holiday shopping season.
As for pricing, the publication speculates that the Fitbit Edge could cost between US$149 (~RM609) and US$199 (~RM813). This estimate is based on the pricing of previous Fitbit Charge models, rather than any leaked pricing information.
With all that said, keep in mind that all of these details, including the supposed renders, are based on a leak. As such, it is best to take these details with a healthy dose of scepticism. If the reports are accurate, however, we may not have to wait much longer before Google reveals the device officially.
