Dell has announced two new laptops for the local market, namely the Pro Rugged 13 Extreme and the Pro Rugged 14. Built to withstand harsh environments, the duo is aimed at those who work in harsh conditions, such as public safety officers and utility technicians dealing with extreme weather.
Naturally, both models are designed with durability and portability in mind. They come with MIL-STD-810H certification and can operate at temperatures ranging from -29°C to 63°C. Furthermore, the anti-glare displays offer gloved and water multi-touch support, so they can be used when the user is wearing personal protective equipment. The company has also equipped the devices with hot-swappable batteries.
Additionally, the laptops offer some optional features, such as private 5G, WiFi 7, and GPS connectivity, as well as up to a 5MP RGB+IR camera. Meanwhile, the Rugged Control Centre lets users configure critical device settings. Other shared features include a 53.5Wh battery and stereo speakers.
Dell Pro Rugged 13 Extreme
This model is a fully rugged AI PC that comes with an IP66 rating for dust and water resistance. As the name says, it comes with a 13-inch display, which offers a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, as well as a peak brightness of 1,400 nits.
Under the hood, the laptop packs an Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processor. Specifically, users can choose from the Core Ultra 5 335 vPro, Core Ultra 5 338H vPro, and the Core Ultra X7 368H vPro. Meanwhile, memory options go up to 64GB LPDDR5X, with up to 8533 MT/s. As for storage, users can get a maximum of 2TB.
On the subject of ports, it comes with one Thunderbolt 4 port with Power Delivery, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one RJ45 Ethernet port, one HDMI 2.1 port, one serial port, and one 3.5mm audio jack. Worth noting that there is an optional I/O bay and Thunderbolt 4 port.
Dell Pro Rugged 14
Unlike its sibling, this laptop is described as a “semi-rugged” AI PC, with a more modest IP53 rating. Beyond that, it sports a larger 14-inch screen. This panel comes with a 1,920 x 1,200 pixel resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. Worth noting that touch support is optional, and depending on the screen, peak brightness goes up to either 400 nits or 1,100 nits.
Internally, the device packs an Intel processor, with options including the Core Ultra 5 335 vPro, Core Ultra 5 336H vPro, and the Core Ultra 7 366H vPro. The Pro Rugged 14 can be configured with up to 64GB of LPCAMM2 memory and up to 2TB of storage.
The port selection includes two Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 Type-C, two USB 3.2 Gen 1, one RJ45 Ethernet, and one HDMI 2.1. The laptop also comes with a 3.5mm audio jack.
Pricing And Availability

Both the Dell Pro Rugged 13 Extreme and the Dell Pro Rugged 14 are available through the brand’s official website. Pricing for the former starts at RM18,916.24. On the other hand, the latter comes with a starting price of RM16,652.48.
