[Original Story: 14 Sept 2026 – 1:12pm]:
Epson has just launched the Lifestudio Grand Plus EH-LS970B, or the EH-LS970B for short, in the Malaysian market. As the name suggests, it is the latest addition to the company’s storied Lifestudio projectors, boasting 4K projection and AI-powered image processing.
According to Epson, the EH-LS970B is designed to give consumers a bigger and more immersive viewing experience without taking up too much living space. The press release notes that the projector can produce images ranging from 80 to 150 inches while being positioned close to the wall, thanks to its ultra-short-throw design. This allows users to enjoy a large projected image without having to place the projector far from the wall or mount it overhead.

More specifically, Epson says its 0.16 ultra-short-throw ratio allows the EH-LS970B to produce a 120-inch image while positioned approximately 17.3cm away from the screen, with support for displays of up to 150 inches. The device uses a 3LCD laser projection system with up to 4,000 lumens of both colour and white brightness, along with a stated contrast ratio of more than 5,000,000:1. Epson also says it can produce an on-screen 4K image with 8.3 million pixels for better video quality and clarity.
The EH-LS970B uses a laser light source rated for up to 20,000 hours. Epson says this translates to more than 10 years of use based on five hours of daily viewing, with no light-source maintenance required during that period.

As mentioned earlier, the Lifestudio projector is equipped with an AI-powered TV chip that analyses and improves content in real time. It enables features such as AI Super Resolution, which Epson says enhances sharpness and fine details. There is also AI Picture Quality, which automatically adjusts the image according to the content being displayed, or so the company says. It also comes with features such as Dynamic Colour Booster, Local Contrast and De-contour Processing to improve colour, contrast and image gradients.
For audio, the EH-LS970B comes with a built-in 20W 2.1-channel Sound by Bose speaker system. Epson says it can deliver room-filling sound with deep bass without requiring a separate speaker setup.

On the software side, the projector runs Google TV, bringing streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube into a single interface. It also supports Google Cast for casting content from compatible devices, with voice control providing another way to navigate the interface.
As for setup, consumers can use the Epson Setting Assistant app to simplify installation. According to the company, the app automatically corrects image distortion and alignment using a photo taken with the user’s device, reducing the need for manual adjustments.
The Epson EH-LS970B is now available in Malaysia, although the company has yet to disclose its pricing. We’ve reached out to the company for more details and will update this article once we hear back. In the meantime, those interested in the projector can find more information on Epson’s official website.
