Huawei is preparing to release some new products in Malaysia soon. Last week, the brand began sharing a few teasers on its social media platforms, revealing that a launch event will be taking place in the very near future. And now, the company has confirmed that this event will mark the arrival of the Watch GT 7 series on our shores.
Although the social media posts throughout the past week have only revealed bits and pieces on the new wearable lineup, both the Watch GT 7 and the Watch GT 7 Pro have already made their global debut at the start of this month. So, we do know quite a bit about these smartwatches.
In terms of design, the devices don’t seem to diverge from their predecessors, though there are new colours and revamped straps. The vanilla model comes in 41mm and 46mm options, while the Pro variant only gets a single 46mm size. The smaller watch sports a 1.32-inch screen, while the display on the larger models measures 1.47 inches. Size aside, the panel is the same AMOLED touchscreen with a 466 x 466 pixel resolution and 3,000 nits of peak brightness.
One of the distinctions between the base Watch GT 7 and its Pro counterpart is the case material. The former features stainless steel, while the latter uses titanium alloy. Beyond that, the Pro variant supports free dives at depths of up to 50m, while the regular model does not. Regardless, the two share IP69 and 5 ATM ratings.

Under the hood, the watches pack optical heart rate sensors and a skin temperature sensor, with the Pro version also featuring ECG support. In terms of health monitoring, the devices introduce a Physical Readiness system. As for sports tracking, the brand has expanded its tools for cycling, skiing, and golf. Some highlights include slope alerts and sharp-turn warnings. Other than that, the brand has introduced wrist-based turn detection and G-Force detection.
Battery life depends on the watch size, with the 41mm Watch GT 7 offering a maximum of 14 days, or seven with typical use. On the other hand, the 46mm Watch GT 7 and its Pro sibling will last up to 21 days, though this does get cut to just 12 days with typical use.

Of course, at this point, local pricing remains under wraps. We’ll have those details once the watches are officially introduced in Malaysia. Fortunately, it won’t be a long wait, since the announcement is slated for Tuesday, 29 September 2026, at 3PM.
