It looks like DJI is planning to release a new compact aerial drone sometime in the near future. The Neo 3 has cropped up in a recent leak, offering us an idea of what to expect. Last week, seasoned tipster Igor Bogdanov posted an image of the device’s retail packaging on X. Then, over the weekend, Bogdanov shared more pictures of the box, revealing a few details on its contents.
Based on the photos, the upcoming drone will feature a different design. One image comparing the box to the Neo 2 highlights an obvious difference: the propeller guards on the new model have a hub-and-spoke design similar to a bicycle wheel. In comparison, the current generation uses guard rings. For now, it’s hard to say why the company is making the change. Some may speculate that it makes for a lighter design, but at the moment, there is no information to support the idea. Beyond that, there appears to be an upward-facing sensor on the drone body, plus some additional vents.
Moving beyond the drone itself, the leak seems to feature the Fly More Combo, which includes additional accessories. As listed on the back of the box, these accessories are one charging hub, three flight batteries, one RC Mini, one RC Mini Expansion Cover, one RC Mini Anti-Loosening Pad, and two spare propellers. Additionally, the combo contains one screwdriver and one USB-C cable.
There are some details worth noting here. To start, the RC mini appears to be a new remote. Notebookcheck has pointed out that the controller resembles the RC Mini AG, so it may offer similar features. For reference, the RC Mini AG comes with a 1.97-inch display with a 410 x 494 pixel resolution and 800 nits of brightness. It also supports up to a 10km video transmission via OcuSync 4 and has a three-hour battery life.

Meanwhile, the transceiver included in the Neo 2’s Fly More Combo seems to be missing here. To recap, the accessory enables the OcuSync connection that allows the drone to be used with DJI remotes. Omitting this module may mean that the necessary hardware has been moved to the Neo 3 itself. But again, this is just speculation.
Currently, there is no information on the upcoming drone’s specifications, be it official or otherwise. As such, it’s unclear how it will perform compared to its predecessor. And although Bogdanov may have a pretty reliable track record, it’s best to take the leaks with a grain of salt. DJI has yet to disclose any information on the drone, and there is no word on a launch yet.
