Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has recently previewed two cars that it will be selling in the local market soon. These are the hybrid CLA 200 and the electric GLC 300. The former is noted to be locally assembled in Pekan, Pahang. This model is also related to the CLA 250+ EV that was launched last month. That being said, the company has not locked in a launch date for either of the previewed models just yet. Ditto their prices, but the company does provide an estimate for now.
Mercedes-Benz CLA 200 Hybrid
With its hybrid drivetrain, Mercedes-Benz says that the hybrid CLA 200 has a fuel consumption of around five litres per 100km. The 22kW electric motor can work on its own in “typically gentle town driving”, doing what the company calls “electric sailing”, or “efficient coasting with a decoupled drivetrain”. Despite the words used to describe this capability, it can still do 100 km/h this way. The motor also features the ability to recuperate energy in all eight gears, recovering up to 25 kW of energy for its 1.3 kWh battery.
Speaking of which, there’s also a 1.5l engine that outputs 120 kW / 250 Nm, and is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. With the electric motor in the equation, the hybrid CLA 200 goes from 0 to 100 km/h in eight seconds, and has a top speed of 232 km/h.
Carrying the car are 19-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels. Other features include multibeam LED headlights, a sporty interior with what Mercedes-Benz calls the AMG Line Sports Seat Package, ARTICO leather with MICROCUT microfibre upholstery, light carbon-grain aluminium trim, and a multifunction sports steering wheel with nappa leather. There are also a 10.25-inch driver display, a 14-inch central display, and a 14-inch front passenger display. Through the latter two, you can access the infotainment system that includes over 40 apps, as well as video streaming with direct access to Disney Plus.
Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC

Moving past the CLA hybrid, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia also previewed the electric GLC 300 4MATIC. This outputs 310 kW and 800 Nm, with a century sprint time of 4.7 seconds. Its battery is rated at 85 kWh, which gives it a WLTP range of up to 616km. DC charging rate goes up to 320 kW, letting the battery charge go from 10% to 80% in 22 minutes.
Notably, this comes in two variants, the Avantgarde and the AMG Line Plus, though the difference is largely cosmetic. For instance, the Avantgarde has 20-inch multi-spoke light-alloy wheels to carry it around, while the AMG Line Plus has 21-inch wheels instead. The latter also sports an AMG spoiler lip to add to the more aggressive look. It’s a similar story inside, with the Avantgarde model featuring brown open-pore fineline birch wood trim, while the AMG Line Plus gets “black / silver metallic mixed-fabric trim”.
To both variants, Mercedes-Benz has given the GLC 300 what it calls the MBUX Hyperscreen, a display that stretches across the entire width of the interior, measuring in at 39.1 inches. There are also two charging trays, as well as a control strip with “hard keys”, or physical buttons. Handling the sound work is what the company calls the Burmester 3D sound system.
As mentioned earlier, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has not locked down a launch date nor specific prices for either of these models. Instead, the 2026 CLA 200 hybrid comes with an estimated price of RM275,000, while the GLC 300 starts from an estimated RM389,000. The AMG Line Plus trim is estimated to cost an additional RM10,000 on top of that.
