Videogames peripheral brand Razer has its Kishi line of controllers for mobile phones that focus on ergonomics, as well as mirroring conventional controller tech like back buttons. But if you want something that’s made purely with portability in mind, then the company has something else for you. It’s the recently announced Prio, which the company says is the first in its “new line of ultra-portable mobile controllers”, so expect a V2 sequel sometime down the line.
But for now, the first generation Razer Prio collapses down to “about the size of a credit card when folded”, albeit quite a bit thicker. More specifically, it measures 107 x 67 x 23 mm, and weighs in at about 101g. But when unfolded, the brand says that it can fit phones measuring up to seven inches. That being said, you’ll need a relatively up-to-date phone, as it only supports iOS 18, Android 14, or newer. This applies to both local play and streaming.
Beyond that, the Razer Prio has all of the controller basics covered. There are the four-way D-pad and face buttons, as well as bumpers and triggers. The latter also looks to have some degree of travel, so it’s not just another set of bumpers where they are either pressed or not. The low-profile analogue sticks don’t use magnetic tech, but at the very least they employ contactless capacitive sensing, so no physical contacts to wear down and therefore no stick drift. The best part? They are symmetrical.
The Razer Prio is priced at RM469, coming in only slightly under the Kishi V3 with its ergonomic design and rear buttons. You can order one from the brand’s own online store right now, but the company notes that it’s “coming soon to local retailers”, so if you prefer physical shopping, you might be in for a slight wait.
