POCO has officially launched the F9 Ultra and F9 Pro in Malaysia, introducing its latest flagship smartphones with upgrades spanning performance, displays, imaging and battery life. The company has also announced the next phase of its partnership with Bose, with both models featuring audio tuning through Sound by Bose technology.
The POCO F9 Series is equipped with Qualcomm’s latest flagship SoCs alongside the dedicated VisionBoost D8 chipset, which handles visual processing and enables Smart frame rates of up to 185FPS. Smart frame rate can also run alongside AI Super Resolution, allowing games to benefit from smoother motion and enhanced image detail simultaneously.

Shared Features
Display-wise, both models feature 185Hz HyperRGB AMOLED panels, although their sizes differ. The technology uses a full RGB subpixel structure and is claimed to deliver image quality comparable to a 2K display while consuming less power.
The displays also mark the global debut of M11 luminescent material, with peak brightness reaching up to 4,500 nits in multiple scenarios and up to 10,000 nits for HDR content. Both phones also feature Xiaomi Vision Care, which has received TÜV Rheinland Quadruple Eye Care certification.
For gaming, both models offer a 4,800Hz instant touch sampling rate, 480Hz 10-point touch sampling rate and 200Hz gyroscope sampling rate. Game Color Enhancement is also available for adjusting in-game visuals, while the 3D IceLoop cooling system is designed to help maintain performance during prolonged gaming sessions.

For photography, the F9 Series introduces POCO’s first 200MP ultra-clear camera system, with OIS on both models. A dedicated 200MP mode allows users to retain more detail when cropping, reframing and editing photos, while both phones also feature a 32MP front-facing camera. Both models also support Live Cinematography, which combines 4K video recording with automated focal transitions and lens shifts.
On the battery front, both devices support 100W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge, along with 27W wired and 22.5W wireless reverse charging. Meanwhile, audio is another shared feature, with both models receiving tuning through Sound by Bose technology.

POCO F9 Ultra
The higher-end F9 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform. POCO claims that it achieved an AnTuTu score of 4,165,108, which it says is the highest score recorded on a POCO smartphone.
The F9 Ultra features a 6.9-inch 185Hz HyperRGB AMOLED display and is available with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. It also has an 8,050mAh battery with 16% silicon-carbon content, which POCO claims can provide up to two days of battery life.

The Ultra also gets a more advanced audio setup comprising dual symmetrical 1115D master-grade stereo speakers and an independent 1620 subwoofer. This creates a 2.1-channel configuration designed to provide deeper bass and a wider soundstage.
For imaging, the F9 Ultra adds a 5x periscope telephoto camera to its 200MP main sensor. This supports 10x lossless zoom and up to 20x AI Ultra Zoom for longer-range photography.

POCO F9 Pro
The F9 Pro takes a more compact approach, featuring a 6.59-inch 185Hz HyperRGB AMOLED display. It is available with 12GB of RAM paired with either 256GB or 512GB of storage.
Its battery has a 6,330mAh capacity, providing a smaller power reserve than the Ultra while retaining the same 100W wired and 50W wireless charging support. The F9 Pro also supports the same 27W wired and 22.5W wireless reverse charging as its higher-end sibling.

For cameras, the Pro replaces the Ultra’s periscope telephoto with a 50MP 2.5x floating telephoto camera. The lens can focus from as close as 10cm, allowing it to handle both close-up macro shots and distant subjects.
Its audio system consists of dual symmetrical 1115F super-linear stereo speakers paired with a Sealed Cavity Design. The setup is designed to provide stronger midrange reproduction, crisp high frequencies and detailed sound across the frequency range.
