EV company Zeekr is pretty rapidly expanding benefits for owning an electric car that it makes. Earlier in the week, it announced discounted rates when charging at DC Handal charging points. Now, the company says that owners of its vehicles will also get a complimentary JomCharge Platinum membership for the rest of this year. The company says that this will benefit its growing community of more than 5,000 owners in the country.
What this means is effectively a 25% discount for EV charging at more than 1,000 JomCharge charging points across the country for Zeekr car owners. The EV brand says that this collaboration is another step in its “ongoing efforts to expand the range of value and privileges available” to its owners through “strategic partnerships and customer-focused initiatives”.
Eddy Lu, General Manager of Zeekr Malaysia, said, “as our community of more than 5,000 owners continues to grow, we want to keep finding meaningful ways to enhance the ownership experience for everyone who drives a Zeekr, whether through strategic partnerships, aftersales support or other privileges that add value to their daily lives … this collaboration with JomCharge gives owners access to privileged rates at more than 1,000 charging points nationwide for truly worry-free driving”.
As with the DC Handal promotional charging rate, this complimentary benefit is not something that is automatically activated just for owning a Zeekr EV. In order to benefit from the JomCharge Platinum membership, you’ll have to fill up another form (linked here), and make sure the email address is the same as the one tied to your JomCharge account. The charging point operator (CPO) will then verify the submission and activate the complimentary Platinum membership once that’s done. This time, though, the company did not provide an estimated time window in which the process will be completed.
