Marvel’s Wolverine is scheduled for launch on 15 September. To commemorate the launch, PlayStation has announced a limited edition bundle PS5 featuring the titular character. Officially, it’s named the PS5 Digital Edition – Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle. In it are the console itself with a theme-appropriate set of console covers rather than the standard white, plus a similarly coloured DualSense controller. As usual, the controller will also be something you can buy on its own.
As the name suggests, the Wolverine limited edition PS5 is meant to evoke the Battle Reborn suit of the character in the Insomniac Games title. Therefore, you get a lot of yellow, and some blacks added as finishing touches. On the console, you get Wolverine’s face on half of the top plate, and solid black on the other. Cutting through both halves are the signature scratch marks from the character’s claws, in a slightly different shade of black. On the DualSense controller, the colour scheme is reversed, with more black than yellow. The scratch marks are also in yellow on the controller.
For those who already own a PS5 Slim or Pro, you can buy the console covers separately. For the Pro specifically, there’s also an Adamantium Limited Edition. Fancy fictional metal aside, the yellow on these console covers has been swapped out for a metallic steel-grey. The colour change also applies to this edition of the DualSense controller, and yes, you can buy this one separately too.
The PlayStation 5 Digital Edition – Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Yellow Limited Edition Bundle is priced at RM2,799. All iterations of the console covers are priced at RM369, and both versions of the DualSense controllers get a RM419 price tag instead. They will all be generally available starting 15 September, albeit in limited numbers. You can also place your pre-orders for all but the console covers starting 19 August at select retailers.
