nubia has officially launched its newest smartphone model, the nubia V80 Design, for the Malaysian market. Ripping the band-aid off, the design is somewhat reminiscent of a particular premium smartphone, which isn’t surprising considering the recently released nubia Air. At least this phone has some proper AI features.

Starting with the display, the nubia V80 Design is sporting a 6.75-inch 1940 x 900 High-Resolution Display 317 PPi, with a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. The phone naturally has your typical volume rocker and power button on the right side of the device and a dedicated AI button on the left that users can customise. The device also has an IP65 dust and water resistance rating.

Under the hood, the nubia V80 Design is equipped with a Unisoc T7280 chipset, with a single configuration of up to 20GB (8GB+12GB) Dynamic RAM and 512GB of storage. Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery that supports 10W reverse charging. Unfortunately, the official press release did not specify what operating system or related software the device is running on.

For the cameras, you may notice that the device features a triple-camera setup on the rear. Unfortunately, once again, the press release only detailed one of them, which is the 50MP main shooter, while the rest remain unspecified auxiliary lenses. On the flipside, however, it features a 16MP camera in a punch-hole cutout.

The nubia V80 Design is available in Malaysia now and comes in Pale Amber and Midnight Black colourways. As mentioned earlier, it only has a single configuration of 20GB+256GB which retails for RM569. Those interested can purchase the phone through physical retailers or through nubia’s official Shopee page.
