KTMB has announced the addition of two extra ETS trains in conjunction with the Deepavali celebration this month. The additional services will operate from 17 to 22 October 2025, with ticket sales commencing on 7 October 2025.

This initiative aims to accommodate the high travel demand typically experienced during the festive season and to help Malaysians return to their hometowns more conveniently. The extra ETS trains will serve the Padang Besar–Kuala Lumpur route and vice versa. Together, the two additional trains will provide 630 seats per day, bringing the total number of available seats — including business class — to 3,780 during the period.

For the Padang Besar to KL Sentral route, the additional service will depart at 11.05 a.m. and is scheduled to arrive at 4.30 p.m. Meanwhile, the return service from KL Sentral to Padang Besar will depart at 5.00 p.m., arriving at 10.20 p.m. KTMB has advised passengers to book their tickets early to take advantage of cheaper, flexible fares and to avoid last-minute purchases.

Travellers are also reminded to arrive at the station at least 30 minutes before departure, as the gates will close five minutes before the train is scheduled to leave. Further information is available on the official KTMB website at www.ktmb.com.my or by contacting the KTMB Call Centre at 03-9779 1200.
