U Mobile has launched a new monthly subscription that allows users to easily swap devices at any time for as low as RM4/month. Called Device Care, this subscription service allows customers to easily exchange their devices across colours, brands, and models within the same generation and recommended retail price for whatever reason.

This programme allows customers to submit a request to swap their smartphones through a 24/7 Device Care Service Portal that is managed by bolttech Device Protection Malaysia (bolttech). The telco claims that, once the request has been submitted, customers can receive the new device as fast as six business hours in Klang Valley.

The Device Care programme is available to U Postpaid and U Biz customers who purchased a device bundle through U PayLater or U SaveMore. Though pricing for the subscription starts at RM4/month, it can easily go up to RM30/month depending on the recommended retail price of the device.

However, U Mobile also has an introductory offer for easier adoption. Customers who subscribe to Device Care within 30 days of their device bundle purchase pay RM0 in subscription fees for the first three months.

According to U Mobile’s press release, the Device Care programme was introduced alongside the telco’s partnership with bolttech. With this joint venture, customers can trade in their devices regardless of their condition or if they simply want to change their smartphone and will receive their new device via a door-to-door system.

Furthermore, these handsets provided through this service will be covered by a 12-month warranty. Customers are also entitled to have two service requests per year with a bolttech service fee per request. To avail the Device Care programme, customers can subscribe at any physical U Mobile Store, Online Store, or via the MyUMobile App.
