Following the global launch of the Huawei Pura 80 series in Dubai, the brand has announced that the photography-focused flagship lineup will be making its way to our shores soon. More specifically, the company will be bringing the Pura 80 Pro and Pura 80 Ultra to Malaysia on 24 July 2025.

As you can tell by the name, the Pura 80 series is the successor to the Pura 70 line, which made its local debut last year. This year’s set of models feature a similar design language, namely the triangular camera island adorned with a sunburst motif.

Of course, the cameras themselves are the highlight of this lineup. The Pura 80 Pro and Pura 80 Ultra are both equipped with a 50MP 1-inch RYYB main sensor and 40MP ultra-wide lens. The Pro model also sports a 48MP macro telephoto lens.

As for the Ultra variant, it gets a switchable dual telephoto camera with 3.7x and 9.4x focal lengths. According to Huawei, the telephoto module incorporates a mechanical shutter to swap between two optical paths, allowing the lenses to share a sensor.

Aside from that, the two phones feature a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display and a new AI Smart Controls Button, which allows the user to quickly access personalised functions like the camera, torch, or AI lens. Additionally, the two phones come with IP68/69 resistance ratings and are equipped with a 5,170mAh battery with support for 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.

Ahead of the official local launch of the Huawei Pura 80 series, early birds can place a deposit at the brand’s physical stores or any of its online platforms including Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. To sweeten the deal, the company is offering an exclusive voucher and free gifts worth up to RM1,428, including a pair of FreeBuds Pro 4 and a year’s worth of Huawei Care+.
