Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra May Also Lose Its S-Pen Digitiser

But that would also make the S-Pen thicker.

Late last year we saw rumours of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 getting an internal design change, losing the digitiser for the S-Pen to be thinner. If this eventually does happen, this means that the phone will be thinner, but the S-Pen instead becomes thicker. A new rumour suggests that these changes may happen to the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra as well, though that could lead to some complications.

This claim comes once again courtesy of PandaFlashPro, who says on X that Samsung has new S-Pen tech, which will be used in the upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. Notably, the latest claim is made in relation to a previous one, which was that the South Korean tech giant will be removing a feature from the upcoming Ultra flagship.

Should Samsung be using new S-Pen tech, while removing the existing digitiser for the stylus, it suggest that, like the upcoming foldable, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be thinner at the cost of its S-Pen being thicker. But because the Ultra model usually comes with a slot for the S-Pen, it’s unclear what that would mean for the design of said phone.

9to5Google speculates that the loss of the S-Pen digitiser in the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra means more space for magnets to for Qi2 chargers. This would give the devices innate compatibility with the wireless charging standard, rather than having to rely on cases with said magnets. Though it remains to be seen if the leakster’s claim is accurate in the first place, even for the foldable coming next month, nevermind next year’s vanilla flagship.
