As well as skipping the number 14.

Back in 2021, the OnePlus 9 series was launched with the Hasselblad branding at the back, and it seemed like a constant ever since. But there is a slight chance that this may change with the brand’s next flagship, which may also end up being called the OnePlus 15 to avoid the number four.

To be fair, the nature of this change is not exactly certain, even if the source of the rumour is traced back to frequent leakster Digital Chat Station. In a post on Chinese social media Weibo, the leakster says, according to machine translation, that the next flagship device using the SM8850 chipset will have a 50MP periscope triple camera setup without a round bump. But more importantly, the leakster also notes that it will carry an independent imaging brand for the first time.

While OnePlus name was not explicitly mentioned by name in the post itself, though the discussion in the comments look to mostly be referring to the OnePlus 15. The independent imaging brand may be OPPO’s Lumo, which is an image processing engine, which would overlap with what Hasselblad is offering in its partnership with OnePlus. Though it’s worth mentioning again that the leakster says that the independent imaging brand will be featured, not necessarily that it would replace the Swedish camera brand.

Also mentioned as part of the post is a 6.78-inch 1.5K LIPO display, with very narrow bezels and a flat screen. Which can be seen as a downgrade in resolution compared to the 1440p screen on the OnePlus 13.
