With the growing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in Malaysia, various agencies are working together to enhance the EV charging ecosystem. The latest collaboration involves Shell Recharge and Proton New Energy Technology (PRO-NET), who have joined forces to simplify EV charging for Malaysian drivers.

Through this partnership, PROTON e.MAS and smart EV owners can now conveniently locate and pay for charging at Shell Recharge stations nationwide using the PROTON e.MAS and Hello Smart apps. This means not having to download the ParkEasy app separately. It’s worth noting that the petrol company holds a majority stake in the company which operates said app.

“At Shell, we believe convenience is key to accelerating EV adoption,” said Seow Lee Ming, General Manager, Mobility & Convenience, Shell Malaysia. “We recognise the need to provide EV drivers with intuitive solutions that meet their charging needs, and that is exactly what we are delivering through this collaboration with PRO-NET.”

As part of this collaboration, Shell Recharge is offering an exclusive promotion for all PROTON e.MAS and smart EV drivers from 26 May to 9 June 2025. During this period, the users of the PROTON e.MAS and Hello Smart apps will enjoy a 30% discount at High Performance Charging (HPC) bays located at Shell stations, and a 10% discount at other Shell Recharge locations nationwide, on their payments.
