Just earlier this week, we saw reports indicating that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will have its launch moved from 15 April to sometime in May or June. This was attributed to the passing of the company’s former co-CEO. Now, we have two new claims, one being the specific launch date for the phone being 13 May. The other is that there were “technical reasons” behind the delay, beyond the the whole thing with an executive who passed.

SamMobile claims that there is a specific new date for when the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will be launching, which is 13 May. The report did not provide a reason behind the near month-long delay, but for that, we turn to another report by WinFuture. This report cites sources close to the company as saying that there were “technical reasons” that necessitate “further testing”. Unfortunately, the report does not provide details as to what these technical issues were.

The latter report also mentions another potential reasons for the South Korean tech giant postponing the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. This is, according to the machine-translated report, “to avoid a lack of public interest”, citing the impeachment of the country’s President, Yoong Suk Yeol and the upcoming trial.

On one hand, a report points to there being technical reasons behind the delay of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge. But on the other, it won’t be as long as the initial deferred launch window would suggest. But as none of these details come from the company directly – and it’s pretty unlikely that it will share any in an official capacity – it’s best to take the new date with a pinch of salt either way.
