vivo Has Its Own Mixed Reality Headset; Also Called Vision

It also looks as familiar as its name sounds.

If there was a point in time that we could point to that caused the resurgence of interest in mixed reality tech, one would probably point to when the Apple Vision Pro was officially unveiled. Since then, we’ve had the Samsung Moohan, which is meant to be the Android XR alternative, as well as other proprietary options like the Pico 4 line, and the Play for Dream MR. More recently, we have the vivo Vision, with a name and look that makes no attempt to veil its source of inspiration.

According to the report  by UploadVR, the vivo Vision comes with a “grey fabric facial interface, rear strap, external battery and connector” that “look almost identical to Apple’s”. Only two departures in design language were spotted on the headset, one being the metallic-looking side arms, rather than the white plastic used by the bitten fruit brand. The other is the smaller visor.

Beyond the way it looks though, nearly nothing else is known about the vivo Vision. The smaller visor may mean less weight on the front for those wearing, but the report mentions that members of the press were not given the chance to give the headset a go.

For what it’s worth, the report cites the company’s claim that the vivo Vision will get a “mid-2025” launch. Though quite importantly, not specified was if it will launch outside if its home market of China, as the brand does have a number of devices from its catalogue that has never left its borders officially.
