After being teased earlier this week, vivo Malaysia has officially announced that the vivo V80 Lite 5G will launch in the country on 3 September 2026. Based on the provided press release, there is no indication that the company plans to rebrand the device as the vivo S2, as previously reported.
Alongside the launch announcement, vivo has also revealed some of the V80 Lite 5G’s specifications, giving us an early look at what to expect from the phone. Its biggest highlight is the 10,000mAh BlueVolt battery, which the company claims is its “largest and strongest battery yet.”

vivo says the battery uses fourth-generation silicon anode technology and Magic Cube Battery Packaging. It also supports reverse charging, while a 3.8K Ultra Large VC Cooling System is tasked with keeping temperatures in check.
As for the rest of the device, the company did not reveal many detailed specifications apart from its 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display. The company also described the phone as having a slim and stylish body. It will be available in three colour options: Afterglow Pink, Emerald Green and Dawn Black.

While the press release is pretty sparse on details, other sources claim that the upcoming phone could come with a MediaTek Dimensity 7360 chipset as well as IP68 and IP69 ratings. For imaging, the phone is expected to feature a 50MP main camera paired with a 2MP secondary sensor at the rear, while a 32MP selfie camera is said to be located on the front.
To recap, the vivo V80 Lite 5G is slated to launch in Malaysia on 3 September 2026. With the launch date just around the corner, we can expect the company to reveal the remaining details, including the phone’s price, on the day itself. All we can do in the meantime is wait.
