Touch ‘n Go (TNG) Digital is implementing TapSecure for eWallet Visa Card transactions, effective 17 March 2025 onwards. It is a new payment authorisation method that will replace the current SMS One-Time Passwords (OTPs), which aims to enhance security while providing a seamless payment experience.

TapSecure enables seamless transaction authentications with a single tap within the TNG eWallet app. To use the new feature, you’ll first have to make a transaction using your TNG eWallet Visa Card, after which you’ll receive a TapSecure prompt in the app. Simply tap on the “Approve” button on the bottom-right of the screen to complete the process.

This new integrated approval process not only shortens the time required, but also reduces the risk of phishing attacks and eliminates the threat of SMS-intercepting malware. Additionally, users can enjoy a smoother TNG eWallet Visa Card transaction experience.

Do note that TapSecure can only be linked to one registered device, ensuring that only the authorised user can approve payments. To enhance account security and prevent unauthorised access, each eWallet account is restricted to a single device. For seamless payment approvals, users are advised to enable notifications in their app settings.
