The upcoming Find N5 foldable smartphone will feature Mac integration, making OPPO the first Android smartphone brand to support this. This was recently revealed by the company itself through its official channel on Weibo.

This functionality is enabled by the OPPO Office Assistant app, allowing the Find N5 to connect to a macOS device via an internet connection. Through the phone’s display, users can remotely access apps and files, as well as drag and drop files from the foldable to their Apple computer.

The integration also takes advantage of the Find N5’s form factor, enabling it to function like a laptop when remotely accessing a Mac. The top half of the display shows a live view of the Mac, while the bottom acts as a keyboard.

It is unclear whether OPPO has entered some sort of collaboration with Apple to achieve this, but this isn’t the first time where the company has introduced an ability that allows its phones to connect to the latter’s devices. Prior to this, introduced together with its Find X8 smartphone series is the O+ Connect feature, which essentially lets you “Airdrop” files to an iPhone. However, this requires the receiving device to install a corresponding app. A similar approach may be involved in the upcoming macOS integration.

From the reveal, it is suggested that the new macOS support will be exclusive to the Find N5. It remains uncertain whether OPPO plans to extend this feature to other ColorOS devices in the future. More details are expected to be revealed during the OPPO Find N5’s official global launch, which is scheduled this week on 20 February 2025.
